Mums are special, they do not need ‘a’ day to celebrate their motherhood; however, it has become a customary to celebrate Mothering Sunday! Its religious origins are believed to date back to Roman times when a festival was held in mid-March to honour Cybele, the mother goddess. Honouring mum and motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mums in society, is what ‘Mother’s Day’ is about.
Pay tribute to the role mums play in our lives, giving thanks for everything they do. This is a day not just to honour mothers, but other mother figures, such as grandmothers, stepmothers and mother-in-laws! Where better to celebrate motherhood? What is a better gift than to treat them with a scrumptious 3 course Eastern Banquet at the Old Hall?
I’m not fortunate enough to still have her, but hey you the privileged ones, make it memorable for mummy and for mother figures!
Bookings for Sunday 30 March, from 12 noon onwards are coming thick and fast. Ring us on 01743 719 100 before it’s too late!
